A draft specification for Physical Science has been published by the NCCA and will now move through a consultation process. This subject will replace the current Phys-Chem syllabus, and is due to be examined for the first time in 2029 (with a 60% exam alongside 40% AAC).

The Consultation process runs until April and allows for submissions by individuals and/or organisations and will include a consultation event in Athlone on Thursday 20th March. All the links for those interested are here: Physics and Chemistry | NCCA

356 students nationwide took the Phys-Chem exam in 2025,.

Also published yesterday was a draft Ag Science specification. All links are here: Agricultural Science | NCCA. (Ag Science had over 7000 students in 2025)
