The highlight of the social calendar for the Irish Physics teaching community is coming up! Hosted this year by Waterford IT, the annual IoP event is always entertaining and educational (while also qualifying as CPD).

This year the keynote speaker Gorazd Planinšič, talking about 'Active Learning to help Students think like Physicists'.

There will also be talks on how the planets influence the tides, Gamma Ray Spectroscopy and the Big Bang. The afternoon hosts a series of workshops hosed by the Science Gallery, The PDST (on GeoGebra), Calmast and the SEAI.

Registration is only €30, which includes lunch - and pretty much as many free pens as you need to get through the year (I speak from experience).
