The last Physics Hub of the 22/23 academic year was on Thursday night, and those of us online enjoyed a great presentation by Maire Duffy and her students from Clonkeen College about their involvement in CanSat this year, as well as a talk by Claire Reidy outlining her involvement with SciFest over the years (from first year in SciFest@School all the way to Atlanta Ga for the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair in 2022!)
The Physics Hubs started during the first period of Covid lockdown, and have continued through out the school years ever since. They run for 45 mins on a Thursday evening, you can participate or just watched silently with camera off, and they are always both entertaining and educational - due to the excellent stewardship of David Keenahan and Paul Nugent of the IoP.
A really great initiative in recent weeks has been the compilation of all the resources shared on the Hubs over its 77 events to date. That Hub can be found here: IOP Physics Hub padlet.
There's also a permalink to this Padlet up above: Leaving Cert Science Resources (padlet.com). I've added the Physics Hub link there just now, where it can be found with links to some other great resources - thephysicsteacher.ie, MCQ's on leaving cert topics, a Padlet linking to useful physics-related TV/movie clips, Science-on-Stage and much more.....
