Physics Video Padlet: new additions....

The always-resourceful Mariea Murphy was in touch recently to share this great video, from Derek Muller and Vertassium, recounting the story of how blue LEDs were developed and why that's a big deal. I think it would also help students deepen their understanding of diodes and semi-conductors in general.
I've added it to the Physics Video Padlet, alongside various other links that have been sent to me by colleagues and students over the years. The idea is to keep an easy-to-find resource of videos that relate to Leaving Cert Physics - or general science - which have actually been watched and used by physics teachers so that there's some form of curation to it all.
Feel free to share any more that you think fit in there. I've set it up to allow people to upload videos themselves, but that doesn't always work, so you can just send me a link if that's easier.
A few of my favourites there include...
this, from Adam Hart Davis, recounting the importance of some Irish contributions to Science.
this, from Carl Sagan, outlining evolution.
or this, from RTE, telling the story of the first transatlantic cable.
Or this one, which a student shared with me a few years ago and which I find very useful when talking about colour mixing and how the eye works: How Color Blindness Works - YouTube
There's a permanent link to this, and a few other useful Padlets, at the top left of the page.
