the syllabus that never was....

Updated: Jan 22, 2020

Reposting this now with a working link.....

With ongoing talk of syllabus reform at senior cycle, and plans to have new specifications for all LC Sciences in place by this September, I thought it would be interesting to revisit the now-abandoned syllabus from 2013.

At the NCCA consultation meeting in Dublin before Christmas, it was suggested (unofficially) that though the practical exam planned as part of that syllabus will not now take place, the rest of the document was likely to be the starting point for the design of whatever ever we get to see in September.

The attached document was quite widely circulated around 2013-14 as I recall, but many teachers won't have seen it and those only joining the profession in recent years won't have had a chance to do so. I hope I'm not breaking any embargos by sharing it here and if I am, please let me know and I'll take it down.
